What Records Do You Need for an Expungement Review?
A good expungement review is document-driven. Relying on memory can cause an applicant to miss a conviction, use the wrong statute or calculate a waiting period from the wrong date.

Court disposition
The disposition should identify what charge resulted in conviction and what happened to the remaining counts. The original arrest charge may not be the same as the final conviction.
Sentence-completion proof
Probation discharge, parole completion, release documents, restitution status and fine payment can be relevant to eligibility or timing.
State criminal history
A state repository record is often more reliable than a commercial background-check site for determining what the government currently reports. Federal history may also matter when there are multistate cases.
Prior relief orders
If a conviction was previously dismissed, reduced, sealed, set aside or pardoned, get the actual signed order. The wording can determine what additional relief remains available.
Identity and address history
Aliases, prior names and older addresses can help locate records that otherwise appear missing. Keep sensitive identifiers out of ordinary email whenever a secure document portal is available.
