How we work

From uncertainty to a defined path.

01

Understand the path.

We start with the conviction, jurisdiction, sentence completion, current residence, existing relief, and the questions you need answered.

02

Choose the right level.

A straightforward federal matter should not be priced like a complex presumptive-disqualifier case. State-only matters follow a different path entirely.

03

Build the record.

When the engagement includes it, our team helps identify and organize court records, criminal histories, references, narratives, and supporting evidence.

04

Stay with the file.

Premium Federal Restoration and Ultimate Federal Restoration include routine follow-up during initial federal processing. State matters are coordinated with appropriate network counsel when accepted.

State Review Only

Your best path may begin in the state where you were convicted.

Some people do not need a federal § 925(c) application first—or at all. State law may offer an expungement, set-aside, pardon, civil-rights restoration, firearm-rights restoration, or another remedy that needs to be evaluated under the law of the convicting jurisdiction.

State-only matters begin with an initial call so we can understand the conviction, where it happened, where you live now, and what result you are seeking. If the matter is a fit, we can coordinate with lawyers in our network who practice in your area or in the jurisdiction where you were convicted.

State procedures, eligibility, scope, and legal fees vary by jurisdiction. Contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship. Any representation by Attorney Root or network counsel requires conflict review and a separate written agreement.

Before you purchase

The fee buys the defined work—not a promised government result.

Federal restoration decisions are discretionary. Payment does not guarantee eligibility, approval, restoration of firearm rights, processing time, or any particular agency decision.

Government fees, fingerprints, certified records, record-retrieval charges, postage, and other third-party expenses are separate unless a written engagement agreement specifically says otherwise.

Direct answer

Which gun-rights restoration service should I choose?

Choose Pathway Consultation ($500) when you need a lawyer to map the state and federal path and answer the threshold questions. Choose Premium Federal Restoration ($2,000) when the federal matter appears comparatively straightforward, without an expected presumptive disqualifier, and you want document help, reference guidance, application review, brief narrative guidance, and routine file follow-up. Choose Ultimate Federal Restoration ($5,000) when the case is complex, a presumptive disqualifier must be addressed, or you want a more deeply crafted factual and legal presentation with up to 15 hours of legal work.

Choose State Review Only when the relief you need is controlled by state law—such as expungement, set-aside, pardon, civil-rights restoration, or state firearm-rights restoration. State matters are evaluated case by case and may be handled with lawyers in our network who practice in the relevant jurisdiction.

FAQ

Service questions

What does the $500 Pathway Consultation include?

Pathway Consultation includes up to two hours of attorney consultation focused on your state and federal path, the conviction and sentence history, current barriers, questions you have, and the practical next step. It is designed for people who have a possible path forward but do not know where to begin or want our team to determine what work makes sense.

Is the $500 credited if I move to Premium or Ultimate Federal Restoration?

Yes. If a later Premium Federal Restoration or Ultimate Federal Restoration engagement is accepted, the $500 paid for Pathway Consultation is credited toward that plan. If the prior payment was made under a different order or email address, contact the office before the later checkout so the credit can be documented and applied.

Who is Premium Federal Restoration designed for?

Premium Federal Restoration is designed primarily for applicants who appear likely to proceed without a presumptive disqualifier and who want up to five hours of attorney consultation/legal review plus document-acquisition help, character-reference guidance, brief narrative suggestions, application review, and routine help responding to agency requests during initial processing.

When does Ultimate Federal Restoration make more sense?

Ultimate Federal Restoration is best suited for more complex matters, including cases where a presumptive disqualifier needs to be addressed, the facts require a carefully developed narrative, or the client wants a deeper legal and evidentiary presentation. It includes up to 15 hours of legal work. Actual litigation or judicial review after a denial is a separate matter.

What is State Review Only?

State Review Only begins with an initial call to identify the jurisdiction and potential state remedies. Depending on the conviction and state, options may include expungement, set-aside, pardon, civil-rights restoration, or state firearm-rights restoration. Any representation and fee are determined case by case with the appropriate lawyer.

Does purchasing a service mean my gun rights are restored?

No. Purchasing a service, signing an agreement, or filing an application is not legal authorization to possess or receive a firearm and does not guarantee any government decision.
